Ragini, the daughter of a wealthy landlord in rural Chhattisgarh, runs away from home to escape an arranged marriage and board a bus where she encounters Raja, a poor but honest farmer travelling to find work. From their first meeting, Ragini dislikes Raja’s straightforward nature and perceives him as intrusive, yet circumstances repeatedly force them together as he instinctively comes to her rescue during various troubles on her journey. Despite her initial resistance, Ragini gradually begins to appreciate Raja’s kindness, courage, and unwavering support, and their constant bickering slowly transforms into mutual affection and eventually love. As their relationship deepens, Ragini remains unaware that her father, worried for her safety and determined to track her down, has secretly paid Raja to follow and protect her while she is away. The truth is revealed when Ragini discovers that Raja had been acting on her father’s instructions all along, making her feel deeply betrayed and heartbroken, as she believes their entire bond was built on deception rather than genuine emotion. Conflicted between her love for Raja and the pain of his perceived dishonesty, Ragini must decide whether to forgive him and accept that his feelings for her became real despite the original arrangement, or to walk away from the relationship forever. The film culminates in an emotional resolution where trust is rebuilt, misunderstandings are cleared, and the two lovers reconcile, affirming that their love has transcended the circumstances of how it began.
